Support for the technological development of a nanotechnology regional startup – I

The subject of the project was the design of a device intended for the production of special nanofibrous biomass carriers, usable in the field of biological wastewater treatment, specifically for the intensification of bacterial growth and increasing the stability of bacterial biofilm. A stable biofilm then better resists the unfavorable environment in the treatment plant bioreactor and more quickly degrades harmful pollutants from wastewater. The device should produce nanofibrous biomass carriers from a composite core nanofibrous yarn, which has already been technologically developed and verified on real wastewater during laboratory research.

The project output was complete technical documentation of a world-unique device for assembling a special nanofibrous biomass carrier. This device will expand the use of composite nanofibrous yarns to another application purpose, intensification of biological wastewater treatment.

The project was implemented in 2020 and 2021 and was supported by the Regional Innovation Program of the Subsidy Fund of the Liberec Region.
